Holiday Shopping Warning

Spread the love

The sales are rampant, and people burdened with even more to do are flocking online to finish their shopping for the season. But, before you spend your last $50 on this year’s “it” toy, take a moment to check the seller.

Beware of Fakes

While Amazon has safety policies in place to protect children from bad products, it has no real way of policing what is on their site by third party sellers. I know that extra $5 off seems tempting, but if it exposes your child to lead or has lethal parts that break off it is not worth it.

Counterfeits have been a problem for a long time, and children have died and been injured by fakes bought online. For more, see this report from The Wall Street Journal:

Protect Yourself

Only buy from “Sold by Amazon” or another seller you trust. Instead of buying a Target item through Amazon, buy it from Target. Know who you are buying from before you hit “Add to Cart”.

Stay safe out there.
